The Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) event at the World Trade Centre in Dubai has seen a busy first day, with the Inflight IFEC workshop’s opening address from Daniel Kerrison – VP of inflight products for Flydubai – garnering a full audience.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Dubai Airports and chief executive and chairman of Emirates Airline and Group, took the time to greet exhibitors and speak to them about their hopes for the show.
“Our experience at AIME has exceeded our expectations,” commented Cari Delille, B/E Aerospace’s marketing manager. “We have been able to meet with key decision makers and have already re-booked for AIME 2016.”
Elsewhere, highlights include Thales displaying its immersive business class seat outside the US for the first time and new exhibitor Boxmark Industries showing off its lightweight leather, XLITE, which weighs around 600grams per square metre.
“The show has seen incredible footfall,” relays MD of event organisers F&E Aerospace,Michele van Akelijien. “Many of the exhibitors are commenting on how busy the hall is today, and are thrilled with the quality of attendees.”
AIME, co-located with MRO Middle East, has been attracting key buyers from international airlines since its inception in 2009.
