As part of a pilot programme, between 17 June and 17 October 2016, Netflix members on select Aeromexico flights within Mexico, Central & South America will be able to stream Netflix to their personal electronic devices using Gogo’s 2Ku in-flight connectivity for free.
“As the first airline to launch with Gogo’s new 2Ku technology, we couldn’t be more excited to help Aeromexico bring this great new passenger experience to life,” commented Dave Bijur, Gogo’s regional president. “Gogo’s industry-leading 2Ku technology is enabling passengers to connect using any Wi-Fi enabled device and experience all of Netflix’s hit series just as they would at home.”
Passengers on aircraft equipped with Gogo’s 2Ku technology will be notified they can access in-flight Wi-Fi by the Aeromexico in-flight team. They can then open their browser and trial the #Netflixabordo experience. Passengers who aren’t currently members of Netflix can sign up to receive a 30-day free trial.
