tWith the Inflight panel discussions at MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore fast approaching, moderator Alexander Preston is pleased to confirm details of four additional experts who will be partaking in his sessions.ttThe two Inflight panel discussions will take place on Wednesday 28 September as part of a dedicated Interiors Track tailored specifically to professionals in the aircraft interiors industry.ttThe programme will begin with an introductory Interiors Forecast delivered by Brian Kough, Director of Forecasts & Aerospace Insights at Aviation Week Intelligence Network.ttThis will be immediately followed by the first Inflight interiors panel discussion – ‘Hyper Local’. How can MRO services help airlines retrofit IFEC solutions? Are airlines bypassing MRO centres and turning directly to OEMs for retrofit help? How are installations certified today? The discussion will explore these key questions in today’s highly diversified IFEC landscape.ttDuring this session, Alexander Preston will be joined by Sonny Stern, who serves as VP Sales and Customer Service at Delta TechOps, the maintenance arm of Delta Air Lines. Sonny has over 25 years of professional experience in management, aircraft leasing, engine and airframe MRO sales. He has also served in aircraft production, technical supervisory and engineering roles, making him an expert addition to the panel.ttThe second discussion is titled ‘A Refreshing Approach’. What are the IFEC retrofit options for carriers? How do operators decide which IFEC options to adopt – embedded, wireless, BYOD? Is it economic, behavioural, and legislative, or determined by aircraft type? What affect does this have on retrofitting? The expert panel who will be tackling these issues is set to include Michael Leung, Clemens Ziegler and Liyan Huang.ttMichael is Director of AAR Engineering Services-Asia, which provides engineering and technical services to Asian airlines implementing cabin modification, upgrades and retrofit programmes. Michael has over 27 years’ experience in engineering, marketing, business development and technology commercialisation, and has overall responsibility for AAR Engineering Services-Asia in Singapore.ttClemens is Director of Business Development at Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co (GAMECO), specialising in aircraft components, while Liyan is Senior Programme Development Manager at ST Aerospace. Together the panel brings extensive experience from across the IFEC spectrum, which is sure to yield an interesting and informative discussion.ttFurther speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
