Wizz Air’s April load factor reaches 86.5%

Wizz Air’s traffic statistics for April 2016 show a 0.3 percentage point increase in load factor to 86.5% from 86.2% for the same month the previous year.
The increase comes as a result of available seat kilometres (ASKs) growing by 18.1% from 2,718,025,000 to 3,210,859,000 across the same respective periods against an 18.3% rise in revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) from 2,352,668,000 to 2,782,896,000.
Passenger numbers increased by 15.8% from 1,535,248 in April 2015 to 1,777,200 in April 2016.During April 2016, Wizz Air established its 25th base in Sibiu, Romania, began operations from two new airports – Suceava in Romania and Olsztyn-Mazury in Poland – and launched 13 new routes.For the rolling 12 months to April 2016, Wizz Air’s load factor has increased by 1.4 percentage points from 86.8% to 88.2%. RPKs grew by 21.1% from 25,783,211,000 to 31,216,345,000 year-over-year while ASKs only grew by 18.9% from 29,721,253,000 to 35,336,849,000. Passenger numbers increased by 20.6% from 16,768,364 to 20,223,329 across the same respective period.
