Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up!

After an intensive and insightful Education Day, followed by two days of a busy APEX EXPO tradeshow, you could be forgiven for thinking that, for attendees, an early night would be the perfect antidote. But such thoughts were far from the minds of those guests attending the VVIP party – hosted by content service provider, Global One Media, and supported by Inflight –, in Singapore last month.

“We wanted to celebrate APEX and a great year with our clients and distributors by hosting a cocktail-fuelled gathering for some of our favourite friends and the best in the business,” the company said. In keeping with their pledge to deliver client satisfaction, they certainly delivered.


Held at the world’s highest al fresco rooftop bar, 1-Altitude (to celebrate the height of the company’s success – get it?!), and its sister nightclub Altimate, which, according to Singapore Tatler (and the Inflight team), offers the best views of the city (a spectacular 360-degree panorama), and a touch of Hollywood glamour celebrating all things APEX EXPO.

271016-global-one-event-hr-049Guests spent the evening wandering around the venue’s rooftop bar to marvel at the night-time vibes, nourished by victuals including burgers, mini crab and coriander cakes, and quaffing custom-made ‘Inflight Magazine Blue Lagoon’ cocktails or sipping mini-bottles of coconut water, courtesy of fellow sponsor, Vita Coco.

Inside, a green- screen photo booth festooned with Halloween props gave guests the chance to strike their best pose, and embrace their inner cravings for fancy dress (we have enough front cover ideas!).

Entertainment was flown in from across the world to celebrate, including dancers, and even a bongo drummer. However, it was the presence of the Crooklyn Clan’s Fatman Scoop that got the dance floor and even the aisles bouncing with a specially curated set. Scoop became an internet sensation earlier in the year with his unique version of in-flight entertainment. Imploring those present to ‘put your hands up’ for his mammoth international hit, ‘Be Faithful’, the sight of some the industry’s luminaries losing themselves in the music is a vision that will stay with all of us for a very long time.

Well, at least until Long Beach in 2017.
