FARNBOROUGH 2010: Pearl Aircraft Corporation orders 30 SSJ100s

News : FARNBOROUGH 2010: Pearl Aircraft Corporation orders 30 SSJ100s

New lessor Pearl Aircraft Corporation has signed a deal with Superjet International for 30 Sukhoi Superjet 100s along with options for a further 15 aircraft.

“This deal is very important for us as we have an international lessor which is ready to support our strategy worldwide,” declared Alessandro Franzoni, CEO, Superjet International. “Confidence is building up on our product and with this deal done I think many others will come.”

“Our airline customers are eagerly awaiting this aircraft,” remarked Jan Soderberg, CEO, Pearl Aircraft Corporation. Deliveries of the aircraft start in June 2011.

Asked if Pearl anticipated making further orders, sales director Craig Papayanis replied, “We believe this is an initial order and more will follow. We like the fact that this is a family and our prime interest is for the larger aircraft [the as-yet unconfirmed 100+ seater]. In the meantime, for this first order, we think we’re pretty close to placing them – and in a variety of regions.”

“The current situation of the financial market is seeing lessors take on aircraft,” noted Paolo Revelli Beaumont, SVP commercial for Superjet International. “It is a good way to penetrate the market at present.”
