SriLankan Airlines takes delivery of eVU players

News : SriLankan Airlines takes delivery of eVU players June 22, 2010
e.Digital has delivered an initial consignment of touch-screen eVU portable IFE systems to SriLankan Airlines, which becomes the latest of more than 30 airlines to adopt the San Diego, California-based company's player.

Available with 7- and 8-inch high-resolution LCD screens and 160 GB to 200 GB of storage, the studio-approved eVU features a customisable multi-language interface and provides more than 20 hours of continuous video playback from a single battery charge.

“We chose e.Digital because of their reputation of providing a rugged, high quality IFE product and excellent customer service,” says Captain Milinda Ratnayake, SriLankan's head of service delivery.

“We welcome SriLankan Airlines as the newest eVU customer and the first airline to exclusively use our touch-screen systems,” responds e.Digital president and CEO Fred Falk.

SriLankan Airlines serves 49 destinations in 31 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Destinations include London, Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, and Dubai.
