News : digEplayer XT offered on Sun Country service to London June 15, 2010
Sun Country Airlines is offering the digEcor digEplayer XT to passengers on its new weekly service between Minneapolis-St. Paul and London Stansted. The devices are complimentary in first class and cost $10 in coach. Each comes pre-loaded with a selection of first-run movies, including Avatar and Percy Jackson/The Lightning Thief, TV shows, music and games.

"The digEplayer is perfectly suited for air travel, particularly on longer flights," says Sun Country marketing and sales VP Wendy Blackshaw. "It is intimate and fits comfortably in your hands, on your lap or on a tray table." The airline also plans to offer the digEplayer on its flights serving Anchorage, Alaska, and Blackshaw says it is evaluating the possibility of extending availability to its entire system.

The digEplayer XT has an 8-in screen offering DVD-quality video and crisp, clear text and graphics plus two independently controlled headphone jacks. The vendor says battery life exceeds 12 hours.

Sun Country's London flights, operated by a Boeing 737-800 with an intermediate stop at Gander, will depart Minneapolis-St. Paul on Fridays and leave for the return journey on Sundays until 15 August. Stan Gadek, the ariline's president and CEO, describes Stansted as "one of the best connection points to the continent with numerous flights on Europe’s leading low-fare airlines, Ryanair and easyJet,”
