AIX2010: Bluebox brings IFE to Apple’s iPad

News : AIX2010: Bluebox brings IFE to Apple’s iPad May 18, 2010

AIRCRAFT INTERIORS 2010: Bluebox Avionics has displayed the first iPad IFE system, using the much-discussed Apple device.

The system, known as “bluebox Ai”, offers movies, TV programmes, music, talking books games and a full selection of magazines using the Zinio application. The company, which has previous systems with airlines such as Iceland Express, airBaltic and Jet2.com, says this new product will be launched by “an international in July”.

Key to the iPad’s use for airlines is the long battery life. Even when playing video, the battery will run for at least 10 hours, explained director of programming Mark O’Brien.
