United introduces B767-300s with upgraded interiors
June 11, 2012United Airlines has introduced into service its reconfigured Boeing 767-300 aircraft which includes an upgraded in-flight entertainment (IFE) system.
The airline plans to modify 14 aircraft with the new interior, offering United BusinessFirst passengers a 15.4" touchscreen monitor delivering on-demand in-flight audio/video content, electrical and USB outlets for charging electronic devices, an iPod jack to play content from their iPod-compatible devices. In Economy Plus and Economy, seating features a 9" touchscreen on-demand IFE system and all Economy rows have access to electrical outlets. In addition to the new IFE offering, the aircraft now features flat-bed seats in an all-new United BusinessFirst cabins.
"The reconfigured 767-300 is just one more example of how we are redefining air travel by providing our customers more choice, greater comfort and better value," commented Jim Compton, United's executive vice president and chief revenue officer.
This modification is part of the $550 million investment in fleet-wide onboard improvements announced by the airline last year, which also includes introducing in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity later in 2012.
