Embraer and AEA announce business partnership

News : Embraer and AEA announce business partnership May 24, 2012

Embraer and the Association of European Airlines (AEA), which represents Europe’s leading network carriers, have announced the signing of an AEA Strategic Partnership agreement which will give Embraer access to the association’s comprehensive resources for industry intelligence, policy analysis and regulatory issues.

“We are continually monitoring those factors that affect our business. By partnering with the AEA, we’ll have better insight to identify the issues that can influence our success and that of our customers,” remarked Simon Newitt, Embraer vice-president commercial aviation–Europe. “AEA provides an ideal forum to discuss regulations and trends that are specific to European carriers. Our new partnership gives us a voice to propose solutions that help keep our segment of the industry sustainable.”

A quarter of Embraer’s commercial airline customers are registered in Europe. One third of AEA members operate Embraer types within their fleets, totalling more than 200 aircraft.

“Embraer is a key supplier for many of AEA’s member airlines, so we are delighted to be joining forces at association-level,” commented AEA secretary general Ulrich Schulte-Strathaus. “This new partnership is a powerful endorsement of AEA’s role as an essential platform for European aviation.”
