Lufthansa Systems’ in-flight entertainment (IFE) offering, BoardConnect, has received the 2012 Crystal Cabin Award for "Passenger Comfort" which was hosted at this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg.

Presented each year by the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the award is regarded as the only international prize for excellence and innovation in the field of aircraft interiors.
 
Passengers can access the BoardConnect Wi-Fi network by using personal mobile devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones. If the aircraft has broadband access, passengers can also surf the internet in-flight, write emails or use social media channels to stay in touch with friends and family.
