Frontier announces December 2011 and full-year traffic

Frontier Airlines has reported preliminary traffic results for December 2011 and for the full calendar year.

In December, revenue passenger miles (RPMs) totalled 1,040,748,000, an increase of 7% on December 2010’s figure of 976,349,000. Available seat miles (ASMs) remained roughly level at 1,219,821,000 compared with 1,222,567,000 in the same period a year earlier.

The load factor in December was 85%, which was 5 percentage points (pp) up on December 2010’s 80%. The number of passengers carried in December 2011 was 4% up on December 201 at 1,178,370 compared with 1,131,194.

For the full 2011 calendar year, RPMs generated numbered 12,899,243,000, compared with 2010’s 12,571,202,000, a 3% increase. ASMs, however, were cut by 1% to 15,036,619,000 from 15,198,973,000.

The load factor for the year was 86%, 3 pp up on 2010’s figure of 83%. The airline carried 14,937,983 passengers in 2011, a 25 increase on the 14,603,935 carried in 2010.
