Wizz Air adds second A320 at Vilnius base

News : Wizz Air adds second A320 at Vilnius base September 7, 2011

Wizz Air is to launch four new routes and increase frequencies on several existing services by adding a second Airbus A320 to its Vilnius base in May 2012.

On top of its eight current destinations, Wizz Air will add service to Liverpool (UK), Paris Beauvais (France), Oslo Sandefjord Torp and Bergen (Norway), all beginning with two roundtrips per week.

Also, frequencies will increase on two existing routes from 27 May 2012. The Vilnius–London Luton route will move up from five a week to 11 per week, while the Vilnius–Eindhoven service adds one extra service per week to go from two to three.

"Wizz Air is very happy with the Lithuanian performance since the base opened and wants to maintain its momentum on the market. By deploying a second aircraft, we further boost the local economy, and increase the number of destinations available from Vilnius at truly affordable prices," commented György Abrán, chief commercial officer of Wizz Air.
