Air Campus officially opened

News : Air Campus officially opened September 6, 2011

A new flight simulator centre, Air Campus, situated at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, has been officially inaugurated.

At Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport, the Air Campus Simuflight Center has set up a bank of flight simulators, available to airline companies as well as registered airline pilot training schools for rental on an hourly basis. Air Campus Simuflight Center is an independent company, and does not belong to an airline company.

Since May 2011, one A320 FFS and one 737-800 FFS have been operational. The centre will eventually acquire four of the latest simulators in each hall, providing 8 operational simulators for airline companies and pilot training schools.

To respond to the needs of international airline companies, the centre will eventually offer four complementary business activities primarily aimed at airline company flight staff:
• a flight simulation centre
• a medical expertise centre
• a training centre (for pilots, hostesses, stewards, etc.)
• a residential hotel and restaurant catering for trainees.

The Air Campus aeronautics training centre has been established by CFA Rhône-Alpes Auvergne within the “Airparc Lyon-Saint Exupéry” business park project.
