MRO AMERICAS: Lufthansa Technik Aero Alzey to maintain JetBlue’s CF34-10s
April 13, 2011A new MRO deal has been signed between Lufthansa Technik Aero Alzey (LTAA) and JetBlue Airways for the care of the airline’s CF34-10E engines which feature on its fleet of Embraer 190s.
The non-exclusive agreement runs for three years allowing JetBlue to source a portion of its CF34 engine work to LTAA.
The companies said it the work gives them a chance to gain experience and is clearly designed to expand the relationship. LTAA said JetBlue is interested in securing a long-term solution for 200 CF34-10E engines.
Lufthansa owns a partial stake in the New York-based, low-fare carrier and JetBlue has a codeshare relationship with the German carrier.
