OnAir wins Aviation Business Award at Middle East ceremonyDecember 1, 2010
OnAir has been recognised with the prestigious 'Technology Implementation of the Year Award' at the fourth annual Aviation Business Awards ceremony held last night in Abu Dhabi.
The award recognizes innovation, improved services for passengers and outstanding implementation across the region. OnAir has won the award for its extensive range of passenger connectivity featuring Internet and mobile services.
OnAir’s technology was available aboard a new Oman Air Airbus A330 and, for the first time on a commercial flight, ACARS services were accessed via the same antenna as used for passenger connectivity - all delivered over Inmarsat-4 satellites.
"We are delighted our technology and services have won this recognition - especially in a region already well known for aviation innovation, fierce competition and high levels of service," said OnAir CEO Ian Dawkins.
