P&W GMS parts certified in China

Pratt & Whitney has received Validation of Supplemental Type Certificate (VSTC) approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for its Global Material Solution (GMS) life-limited parts for the CFM56-3 engine, enabling GMS parts to enter revenue service in China.

"The Pratt & Whitney GMS programme offers competitive choices for airlines to reduce maintenance costs with technology from a respected OEM," commented deputy director general of airworthiness department for the CAAC, Xu Chaoqun, who presented the VSTC certificates to Pratt & Whitney.

"Pratt & Whitney is committed to support our customers, and our GMS programme, as well as our overall engine overhaul capability, provides a great range of choices to help our airline customers," noted Jon Beatty, senior vice-president, airline customers and customer service, Pratt & Whitney.
